Five on Friday

To be honest, I haven't been very interested in this little blog (I know it's hard to tell by all the posting I've been doing), but really not much has been going on.  In an effort to get back on the wagon, I decided to try a little link up party.  Who doesn't love a party, right?

1. I have officially been on summer vacation for 7 days and I have spent 4 of those day in some Common Core Professional Development.  Honestly, I wasn't too excited about starting my summer off this way, but after it was all said and done, it was really good work time.  I learned a lot and now  have the rest of the summer to play.

2. Our houses (yes, that's plural) REALLY need to sell.  I'm beyond ready for my big girl house.  We have two move-in ready, 1100 square foot, 2 bedrooms/2 bathroom homes for sell.  They were perfect for us before, but we have outgrown them with all our stuff.  My parents would appreciate them selling also, as most of my "extra" stuff is being stored in my old room at home.

3.  At the end of our professional development yesterday, we watched this wonderful video called Caine's Arcade.  Teacher or not, this is a great video to watch.  It is a child's creativity on display at its best!

"The Fun Pass is an awesome deal."

This is the movement is caused!  Unbelievable!  A true example of how one adult taking time out of thier day to foster a child's idea can change a life forever.

4. I'm FINALLY headed to the beach this weekend for a few days and I can't wait.  I might already be packed and ready to go. It's amazing what the ocean and some sand can do for the soul.

5. I can't believe someone vandalized my beloved Tigers Howard's Rock.  I'll be nice with my words, but someone broke into the stadium and tried to steal the rock that every player touches as they run down the hill.  I knew that this rock had a lot of history, but it wasn't until I was reading a few articles this week that I fully understood it all.  I won't get on my soapbox about this, but to keep it simple I really hope they find this person and for anyone else that may think about doing this, in the words of a famous Tiger that came before me, "Keep your filthy hands off our rock!"

Happy Weekend Y'all!

As Of Lately...

Maybe I should call this post, As of Lately Since July...it's been a while...

So, let me try to catch up since it has been 10 months...

Last August we took another short beach trip with J's family to one our favorites, Holden Beach.  We had a great time as usual, but this time I GOT TO SEE THE TURTLES HATCH!  Eeek!  I'm crazy about a Loggerhead Turtle and have always wanted to see them hatch.  Sadly they don't normally hatch until August or September and those months are out for me with school starting.  The nest we got to see was an early nest and they were ready to go home to the sea.  They are some of the most precious things I think I have ever seen.

These guys were the stragglers from the nest.  They needed a little help from the Turtle Patrol going home.

School started shortly after that and I've enjoyed another great year in Third Grade.  It's hard to believe I will be finishing my 9th year in just 24 days...just another reminder of how I'm not getting any younger, but I'm totally enjoying my 30's!

I got another season of cheering on my beloved Tigers!

We had our first Christmas as The Dailey's and participated in our church's Living Christmas Story as a few villages in Bethlehem.

We celebrated our one year anniversary!  We didn't do anything fancy as our gift to each other was finally ordering our wedding album.  I guess that was more of a present for myself, but paper is the first year gift, right?  We went to Mr. Friendly's where we had our first date.  On the advice of some friends we took our wedding cake and the restaurant so kindly dolled it up and served it as our dessert.  I think they were a little surprised when we asked them to do this, but they were happy to make it happen.

This Spring we enjoyed another Carolina Cup with great friends!

In the last 10 months we have also had some wonderful times with our families celebrating birthdays and holidays.  We have made fun memories with our friends, and put two houses on the market (that's for another post).  Hopefully, I will get back to documenting our journey together...it's really hard to catch up on 10 months in one post :)

Note To Self: Learn how to edit pictures from my phone...sorry for the poor quality.

I Ran the Chicago Half Marathon!

Righttttttttt!  Only kidding.  Do I have your attention yet?  If you know me at all you would know that I have a love/hate relationship with any form of exercise. However, there was a half marathon while I was in Chicago last weekend, maybe next year...

Anywho, I had a FABULOUS girls weekend in Chicago with Kate and Jacqueline.  Jacqueline has lived in Chicago for a while, but recently bought a new house and her husband was out of town so... while the boys are away, the girls will play! We had a blast catching up, sightseeing, eating great food, shopping up a storm, and seeing an OUTSTANDING show.  Seriously, Rock of Ages was unbelievable.  I love a good musical!  I warned them that I play tourists when I travel, so I had my camera in tow.  Hence all the "touristy" pictures.  We were missing one of our wonderful friends, Amy, who unfortunately, but also fortunately couldn't make it due to celebrating the Clemson Fund raising $608, 839, 594!  Go Tigers!  Looks like we are well on our way to one billion!  Sorry, just a little plug for my money raising fool of a friend.  Missed and love ya Amy!

I miss us all living together or even in the same city, but also love when we can get together and pick up right where we left off.  The weekend was just like old times...only we are a bit older and wiser now.

Pictures from our Architectural Boat Tour

This was the name of our boat.

Love the look of the building!

Did you know the Sears Tower is now the Willis Tower?

Mr. Trump sure does have a pretty building.

At the end of our trip, I found out Sue lived in the field museum!  I have a book about Sue at school, so I feel like I need to go see her.  On the itinerary for the next trip...Cubs Game and Sue!  Oh!  And the half marathon, how could I forget?

the PARTY!

Let the party begin!  I had the TIME OF MY LIFE at our reception!  I finally got to celebrate, visit with most everyone there and thank everyone for come.  I could have continued to party into the wee hours of the night, but unfortunately it did have to end.  Our band, Flashback, was incredible...as I knew they would be.  Check out some video footage from our wedding on their Facebook page here.  Again, everything was just PERFECT.  Lindsay Alexander Photography captured the night beautifully and there were so many to choose from.  I will let all the pictures paint the picture of all the fun we had.  Enjoy!
