Tipping

Do you tip at a restaurant if you go and pick up your take-out? I never have, but always think about maybe I should. What do you do?

House Update

I've been working on finishing the big items I need for my house, and here they are...

A new chair from Target.com....Great Deal! Just need a decorative pillow to throw on it.

I finally found a quilt to go in my spare bedroom AND I found it on sale at Anthropologie, yes I repeat, I found something on sale (very uncommon for me). A few more accessories and the room will be finished.

A new pillow and moving another pillow around to complete the couch.

I have to say, it's finally coming together. I think Parker agrees :) Just a picture from the last weekend, while riding in the car...he is too cute!

I Heart October

How I love the month of October! Not only is it my birthday month, but it is filled with so many fun things to do. This weekend I experienced a new one. Saturday night after the Clemson game (we finally won, YAH!) I went with Lorrie, Daron, and Parker, along with some of their friends to Oktoberfest. If you have never experienced this, you really need to. It is a German festitival held in Walhalla, SC. Sadly, my camera battery died...I so wanted to capture the moment. I think they should have renamed it Mudfest this year, because with all the rain they have gotten the whole field was filled with mud. I really almost lost my shoe going to buy a funnel cake. If you know anything about me, very out of my element. The festival was filled with vendors selling food, German folk dancing, and songs. Regardless of the weather it was a fun time and I can say I have been to Oktoberfest.

Top Chef

Well, I'm not exactly a top chef, but I did find a yummy recipe that is even easiest enough for me. (If you know me at all-I DO NOT enjoy cooking, and in fact keep the take out buisness busy, but love food TV. Weird, I know) As a frequent FOOD Network viewer, I came across Paula Deene making this recipe from her restaurant.

Lady and Sons Chicken in Wine Sauce

Ingredients:
4 Large Skinless, Boneless Chicken Breasts
4 Tablespoons butter, melted
Salt and Pepper
6 ounces (about 8 slices) Swiss Cheese
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1/4 cup white wine
1 cup herb-flavored stuffing mix, crushed

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Add the chicked to a shallow buttered casserole and season with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Layer the cheese slices on top.

4. In a bowl, add the soup and the wine, season with salt and pepper and pour over the cheese.

5. Sprinkle stuffing mix on top and drizzle with melted butter. (Oops! I forgot to crush it, next time.) Bake for 45 minutes.

Cook's Note: If desired, use more butter, Gotta love some Paula :)

Serve with a green veggie and dinner is served. Clearly, I need practice with plating food, but it sure was good. Try and Enjoy! Thanks Paula!

I love rock candy!

Okay, so I guess you had to be there to appreciate the title of this post, but to catch you up, that was the name of the band Amanda, Ellen, and I ended up hearing at Wild Wings in Greenville on Saturday night. (Back Story: We started talking to them about what kind of music they were going to play-we were trying to decide how long to stay-and they told us the name of their website several times, just in case you were wondering: iloverockcandy.com) They were actually pretty good and we had a blast dancing the night away. A few of us even made a few appearances on stage :) We played around at Fall for Greenville for a bit before heading to Wild Wings that night where we ended up staying the whole time. What a fun night!

Professional Wedding Attendee

Getting dressed up, good food, dancing, catching up with friends, and a few adult beverages? What's not to love about that? I was recently thinking what I was going to do, without all the weddings to attend. Last October began my 9 month stint as a Professional Wedding Attendee. Well, at least that's what I referred to as. From October to June I attended 9 weddings.....yes, I went to one just about every month. Every single one of them was absolutely beautiful! It also helped me expand what I call the wedding collection of dresses. It was also really nice getting see everyone so often....what to do now? Happy (early) Anniversary to all!

Getting Crafty!

When I saw this idea I had to "borrow" it! You know how I love a monogram :) I am not very crafty most of the time, but I saw this on Holly's blog and had to try it. Believe it or not, it was even easy enough for me.

Side Note: This easy DIY project also distracted me from the horrible Clemson game. I'm starting to get a little discouraged with my tigers :(
