Oh Christmas Tree!

I love decorating for Christmas, but I was a little uninspired this year. I started the weekend before Thanksgiving since we were going to be gone the next week and finished up when I returned. So, this is a glimpse of my few decorations this year....

Tried to get crafty in the fireplace...

Look familiar? I just changed out leaves for ornaments.

I got the printable in the frame off pinterest...

The village...not as many houses as last year.

Even added a few touches in the bathroom.

The outside.

Really wanted a new wreath, but like I said, wasn't feeling inspired this year.

The ONE photo ornament that worked. I had big plans to make all these new ornaments for the tree and it was a big fat failure. This one was the only one worth hanging on the tree. Maybe next year.

Some Christmas Treats...these are my favorite. My grandmother used to make them for me all the time and I felt like trying them for myself this year. I miss her everyday!

So, that's it. Not much, but it made me happy for this year. Happy Christmas Eve Eve!

Fall Design on a Dime

I'm back! It's amazing what can get done when your team is playing away.

Since Clemson is playing away tonight at Virgina Tech, I decided this was the weekend to decorate for fall. As much as I wanted to venture into a few new ideas I found on pinterest, I knew it was best to make do with what I had. So, for about $25 and some inspiration from pinterest I got my little house spruced up for the season.

Same wreath as the last 2 years, but a little monogram always makes everything perfect.
I know my TV is not straight. I tried fixing it but it was knocking the garland off, so I gave up.
We all know decor is way more important than a straight TV, right?

My grandmother made these years ago. I always enjoy pulling them out and thinking of her.

One side of the table...

And the other.

Now this needs some work...I couldn't get the mums right. A trip to mom's for a pot is in order.

I'm planning on getting a cheap frame and hanging this up.

Via Pinterest.
Happy Fall Y'all!

Pinnable Me Friday: Fall Decor

Even though we have reached 100 degrees most of this week, I'm already thinking about Fall. Maybe it's the Back To School Buzz, the anticipation of football season, or my hopes for cooler weather...who knows. Either way, I'm linking up with Paw Prints and Pastry Bags for some fall love.

Happy Pinning!

Sneak Peek...The Home Office

Josh needed a "Man Space" in the little house of mine, so I gave him a closet. At least I took the doors off.

In all seriousness, the guest room closet has turned into quite a cute little office. I'm in the process of finishing up the accessories, but here is a sneak peek...

LOVE this chair! Thanks for finding it Mom!

A little organization to hide the "stuff."

I'm looking forward to putting a little style into his space....a finished product coming soon!

Stylish Home?

I can tell I'm back to my busy work schedule because I have fallen behind on my blogging. As I was catching up on some of the lovely blogs I follow I came across this style quiz on A Day in the Life. Just a fun little home decor/style quiz. After a few short questions, these were my results from the quiz:
You most resemble a "Winsome Charm".

Details...
Details of craftsmanship with natural materials surround you. To cook a grand meal in an elegant kitchen is your joy. A bedroom with distinct character - warm and charming. Tempo and technical accumen give a smooth flow to you. Your relaxed table atmosphere is enjoyed by everyone. "Beer is proof that God loves us" Pre-war, upper east side attitude. Always intriguing, never clumsy. .

Suspected "Winsome Charm"

- Tom Hanks
- Robert Redford
- Queen Latifah

I'm not quite sure about the beer quote, even if I do enjoy some cold blue mountains occasionally.

I do love my house, but like many others I'm thinking of how I can change it up after two years of living here. Unfortunately, I have champagne taste on a beer budget....never fear, Mom to the rescue. She could so host Design on a Dime. I'm wanting to change up a small wall in my house. Currently is has a brown question mark, and, at, and exclamation mark symbol hanging on it. I've always wanted a photo wall, but don't want all the frames to be the same. And as I mentioned above, I'm on a budget. I tempted to go "thrifting" but I have no idea where to go, and I'm afraid I might look like a little lost puppy in a thrift store. I'm loving these walls. The first one is not a true photo wall, but I love the look of the empty frames.
Any Suggestions?

Snow-cation Randomness Day 3

No school again...icy roads.
Last night, J kindly asked for me to get ready and go somewhere today. I think was tired of seeing me in over-sized sweats, t-shirts, and no makeup. I don't know why in the world he would he world he would be tired of that beautiful sight? At least I had showered each day. I also think it was for his sanity as cabin fever set in last night and I was wired!

As asked I did get ready, and run some errands today. I have to admit it felt wonderful to actually put on real clothes, makeup, and feel put together for the first time in three days. I also organized a few bill stubs that had been piling up for a few, six, months. What can I say...the boring stuff is just not as fun to organize.

Before
After
Please excuse the huge speaker...it is a part of my lovely's computer equipment.
On a fun note, I did pick up these darling pillows at Target the other day. The couch is in the middle of a pillow makeover. Not only are they cute, but they are reversible. I have to say I'm partial to the flower side though.
On tap for Snow Day 4: Wedding Dress Shopping. Why not make good use of our time off?

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...

The music started before Thanksgiving, and the decor went up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I love decorating for the season, but then came a little problem that I didn't have last year...where to put all the normal decor things. Thus, I made my very first trip up inside the attic with the help of a ladder and Josh. But, all is up now and 'tis the season!

I love this angel on the table!

The candles are in the windows as well....

So, you will notice there is no tree topper. What I had from last year didn't work for me this year. Then I wanted a big bow, but mom didn't know how to make one and I heard they were a little costly to get made, so it is blank until I can come up with something else.

I got this garland at the Holiday Market today and I love it!

These were my grandparents and each one is a memory for me...
The Ryman Auditorium is up there for Mama Inish who worked at the Grand Old Opry, the Car Dealership for Papa who sold and loved working on cars, the Coca-Cola plant because that is all Papa drank, out of the 2-Liter bottle, no ice. There are many more memories from these houses, and boy do I sure miss Mama Inish and Papa.
Wishing you a happy holiday season!

Fall Decor

I know its a bit early to be putting out fall decorations, but with weddings the next two weekends and football season, this was the only weekend to do it before it got to late.

The kitchen table. I think it may be a little busy...

I used the newest Pottery Barn catalog as inspiration...this is my version.

A little something on the mantle.

The extra stuff landed inthe kitchen.

Happy Fall!
And I'm shooting in style now with this darling camera strap my dear friend Meredith made me. I love it!

I think it screams Ashlee...Now if I could only find a camera bag just as cute.
Sidenote...Oprah ended up not being that bad on Friday. I think I may have overreacted at the beginning. It must have been a theme for the last Friday....I overreacted to just about everything that day. I agreed with some points they made, and disagreed with others. I will stand firm that if I had watched the show on Monday, I would have been angry. But, I'm over it now :)
