Seriously?

Seriously?

I must have these in orange!

I'll take the aqua too while I'm at it.

Thank you Just The Thing for tempting me...

Bridal Registry

I had NO idea that registering for the wedding would be so detailed, time consuming, and exhausting. Josh opted out of the Belk's trip, so Mom and I went yesterday to get everything started. Our appointment was at 10:00 and we didn't finish until 2:30! Yes, that has to be some kind of world record for the longest time it took to register. I even had an idea of what patterns I wanted, so I wasn't wondering around trying to decide what to get. Well....I guess technically I did have to decide on our everyday china. My first choice was Vietri, which was really expensive, go figure.....it's just SO pretty. Another pattern I liked was Sophie Conran Portmeirion. Final decision only with the help of my mom...to mix and match. I got pieces of each that I really liked and was very pleased with our final product. Four and a half hours later we were registered for almost everything we needed. I even registered for some Christmas China to get my collection started. Our original plan was to hit Bed, Bath, and Beyond the same day, we quickly said that can be left for another day.

A First

I'm not trying to air my dirty laundry on purpose, but I just couldn't resist as I thought Josh's efforts were really sweet...

Last week, I received my first "I'm sorry I screwed up" flowers from Josh.

I was not expecting them, and honestly wasn't that mad about it, more aggravated than mad. So, I guess your wondering why he sent them? The wedding details...imagine that. We have been working on finalizing the guest list and I have been trying to gather formal names and addresses for everyone. I promise I'm going to keep these in a safe place for the rest of my life so I no longer have to bug everyone come Christmas card time :) I asked Josh to get this information as well, including middle names, and like any other man had a hard time understanding why. Evidently "because it's the proper thing to do" didn't suffice for him. As it happens, I was on my way to work out and a pool day and I left without finishing our "conversation." I had also forgotten my phone, so I had no way of calling to talk (because I have no numbers memorized anymore), which probably didn't help matters. When I got home, flowers and a sweet card were waiting.

By no means were flowers necessary, but it was a sweet thought to help make things better. As usual all was worked out and life has happily moved on.

Summertime Routine...

I love a routine...I'm a creature of habit. I like to have a routine even in the summer when I'm not at work. However, I have to admit that I get bored during my time "off." And I use the term "off" very loosely, but I won't get on my soapbox about people's opinions about teachers and summers. Don't get me wrong I highly enjoy my time to recoup from the school year...and it is much needed, but I need to have things to fill my time...just ask Josh.

A Normal Summertime Routine
8:30 Get up/Breakfast
9:30 The Firm to work out
10:30 Off to Mom's to have a pool day, errands, or back home to hang out or clean
4:00'ish home and bored
7:00'ish Dinner
8:00'ish TV and catch up with Josh
11:00 Bed

Tough Life right?

Just the other night Josh and I were talking about this topic and he told me I need to find something to "fill my time" and my answer was that my hobby (aka shopping) involves spending money, which I'm trying to save. Apparently when Josh gets home from work I am a bit talkative after being my myself most of the day. I think he might have even used the word needy...really, I think needy is a bit much, I'm just happy to see him :)

The truth is, I really have lots of stuff to needs to be done. When there is a huge pile of clothes on the bed to be folded and put away, a bathtub that clearly needs some attention, very visible dust that needs dusted, and wedding details and list from my mom to take care of, I have no excuse to claim to be bored.

And should I mention that I haven't dried my hair, put on real clothes, or put on make-up since
Tuesday?

So, I guess I don't really have a point with this random post except for the fact that maybe I'm just lazy or as I would like to think am more productive with a few things on my plate at one time. And a routine works best for me.

Lately...

Whew....finally back to "the blog." It has been a while since my last post, so this is recap of what has been going on as of late (in no particular order).

1. We went to the beach last week and enjoyed some sun, relaxation, seafood, and rest. May was quite a busy month and it was very nice to get out of town and enjoy some R & R.

I read this book while on vacay and I highly recommend it. It was really good! A little out of my normal chic lit realm, but I loved it!

2. We got all of our engagement pictures back from Lindsay Alexander Photography. I have to admit I was a little nervous that she only got a few good shots of us, not due to her, but of us the bugs and sweat, and thankfully I was wrong. There were a lot of good pictures to choose from and the packaging was adorable. I felt like I was getting a gift in the mail...and who doesn't love a package? Check out her blog post about our session on Lindsay's blog.

3. The last week of school was full of emotions. I was ending my adventure at Saxe Gotha and preparing for a new one next year at Meadow Glen. Saxe Gotha was my "school home" for the last five years and I was more emotional than I thought I would be at our end of the year luncheon...only thanks to Mr. Hornacek who had us all crying like babies. Next year will be different, but I am also very excited to begin a new adventure. Okay, enough with all that, we did manage to have some fun the last week of school. Awards day, Field Day, Yearbook Signing. Oh did I mention I was sick the last week of school...with a fever! I rarely get sick or if I am I suck it up and go to work, and I had to take a sick day the last week of school. I was not a happy girl, but feeling much better now. I think my body was trying to tell me something...maybe to slow down??

4. I also had my "performances" for the dance class I take at Southern Strutt. Yes, I'm almost 30 and still have to dance in the recital and concert. It was a long weekend, but I'm still going to keep on dancing as long as I can.

How cute is Miss Ella? I can't wait for her to be a part of our wedding.

My plan for the rest of the summer? Work on wedding details with mom, get ready to open our new school in August, and enjoy some time to relax...

Happy Summer!
