Thank You Anthropologie!

My favorite month is October for many reasons, but this being one at the top of the list.

It says, " What's in the stars for you, Scorpio?"

My birthday gift from Anthropologie! A little discount for a little something special. I wonder what I will treat myself too this year?

Fall Decor

I know its a bit early to be putting out fall decorations, but with weddings the next two weekends and football season, this was the only weekend to do it before it got to late.

The kitchen table. I think it may be a little busy...

I used the newest Pottery Barn catalog as inspiration...this is my version.

A little something on the mantle.

The extra stuff landed inthe kitchen.

Happy Fall!
And I'm shooting in style now with this darling camera strap my dear friend Meredith made me. I love it!

I think it screams Ashlee...Now if I could only find a camera bag just as cute.
Sidenote...Oprah ended up not being that bad on Friday. I think I may have overreacted at the beginning. It must have been a theme for the last Friday....I overreacted to just about everything that day. I agreed with some points they made, and disagreed with others. I will stand firm that if I had watched the show on Monday, I would have been angry. But, I'm over it now :)

Oh Oprah!

I have a feeling I'm going to get a little angry watching today. Eleven minutes in and I'm already a little mad. Today's show is a reaction show to Monday's show, which I missed, probably a good thing. Monday's show was one teachers unions and the state of education today. Now I know jack diddly on unions, but I like to think I know a bit on the buisness of education.

I'll have to post after the show is over with my full reaction...

I Spy...Fall!

I spy something orange, red, yellow, brown. I spy pumpkins, corn stalks, hay bails, and fall leaves....

I got my new Pottery Barn yesterday, just in time for the official start of fall tonight at precisely 11:09. (I'm loving the clear vase in the middle of the table below. I might try to recreate it.) I must say I'm very glad fall is officially here, even if we will have 80 and 90 degree weather through October. I think the fall decorations might even make an appearance this weekend. I know it is a little early, but as I was looking at the calendar, this is the only time I will have to do it before Thanksgiving rolls around.

Happy Fall Y'all!

O"Fish"ally One!

Last weekend the Zelmer's celebrated Parker's first birthday! And in Lorrie fashion every adorable detail was covered!

It was a wonderful time with great people! Happy Birthday Parker!

Watch Out Ladies

Is it just me or is there a baby boom going on? It seems as if all the weddings I went to a year or two ago are all expecting or having babies this fall. Over the Labor Day Weekend I went to see Marjorie and Dave's new little man...

and boy is he a cutie!

On other baby fronts...
Dave and Kristy are expecting their little man on Tuesday! How exciting!
A good friend from college, SB, told me her and Dalton just found out they are having a girl! I really wanted to go out and buy something for Baby Grein because girl stuff is just too stinking cute, but I resisted.

Tiger Tails

A new, tasty, easy tailgate treat...Tiger Tails. I found these in a magazine and they were originally Tigger Tails and part of a Winnie the Pooh birthday party....I however knew instantly what I could do with them.

Here's the How-To:
1 (14 ounce) bag of orange candy melts *I used the Wilton Candy Melts from Michael's*
1/2 cup all vegetable shortening divided into 2
1/2 (14 ounce) bag of chocolate candy melts *again, I used the Wilton brand.*
1 (10 ounce) bag of pretzel rods

1. Microwave orange candy melts and a 1/4 cup of the shortening. Microwave in 30 seconds intervals, stirring each time, until melted.

2. Dip pretzel rods 3/4 of the way into melted orange candy. I ended up pouring the melted candy into a glass to make it easier.

3. Place pretzel rods on wax paper to dry.

4. Melt the chocolate candy melts the same as the orange.

5. Spoon chocolate over pretzels to make stripes. (This method did not work for me, so I made a homemade pastry bag out of a ziplock and then made the stripes. This worked much better.)

6. Let chocolate dry and enjoy!

*I doubled my recipe and it was just as easy.

GAMETIME!

This weekend was the opening game of the 2010 Clemson Football Season! We traveled up to Clemson Friday night and got to visit with some of my favorites, The Zelmer's. Saturday was filled with fun tailgating and watching the Tigers play!

I love this little guy!My new tailgate treat...Tiger Tails. Salty and Sweet...Yum-O! "How To" post to come...

The Zelmer's...Parker was a trooper.
Lorrie and Parker enjoying the Tiger Walk.

Part of the old Westminster gang...miss those ladies!
So....my analysis of the game. Well, we didn't play the greatest. If I'm being honest....I got frustrated with them many times during the game. However, if you look at the history of Clemson, we typically don't get hyped up for opponents who are not big names and this is our first game in four years without C.J. Spiller. So....I will give them this one game to work the kinks out, but from now on I expect only the best from my Tigers.
I love this picture...Looking forward to what this season holds! GO TIGERS!!
