Classroom Craftiness

A few weeks ago I got the idea to make a fabric wreath for my new classroom. I think subconsciously this was an attempt to feel productive since I'm waiting for the go ahead to start moving boxes in. I had an idea of how to make it, but just to make sure I found these directions on the web and went to town. First step...a trip to Hobby Lobby to gather supplies. I think this was the first time I realized they carry just about everything a crafty person would need. The fabric I choose. My stayed with my new school's color scheme.
Then I cut it into strips per the directions.

The hanger...the most difficult part...a pair of pliers would have made it much easier.

I started tying and I soon had a complete wreath.

Just a closer view :)

I bought some small wooden letters and painted them.

To attach the letters I pulled out the handy hot glue gun. I glued a few extra strips I had to the back of each letter.

Then just tied them on to the hanger. The finished product! I love it! And that is saying a lot because many of my DYI projects don't come out to my liking. Although this one is pretty screw-up proof.

I can't wait to hang it on my door at school!
