February is about the time I get the urge to start going to the tanning bed. I told myself I was going to start taking better care of my skin, due to a few fine wrinkles that I should not have at my age.
However, I can not stand the paleness of my skin as spring quickly approaches. That raises the question of a spray tan...I have never gotten one, and I have to say I am scared of what it might look like. All I can think of is the Friends episode when Ross went to get one and ended up being one sided...how horrible would that be!
Are there any good ones out there? Any good self tanning lotions anyone would recommend?

I am the queen of fake tan... mainly because I do not tan easily- I just get freckles. :) The key to fake tan is using rubber gloves. I use "Tan Towels". I have used "Fake Bake" in the past, and it works well. I like to do it at night before I go to bed so it has time for the color to set in, then I wake up and take a shower in the morning. I have also done the spray tan; the Mistic Tan works well- just make sure you watch the video at the tanning bed before doing it. If you are comfy getting sprayed by a person- that works the best because it gives you the most even look. Oh, and rubbing alcohol will help take off the color if you have a boo boo :).
ReplyDeleteI have used tan towels...they are kind of expensive but dont stain you and dont stink like some of the other ones...then use the jergens lotion that has some bronzer in it too...I have never done the spray tan but got a coupon for one so I might try it out!
ReplyDeletei'm not a fan of bottle tans because i have such a heck of a time getting even/nonstreaky tans. i LOVE mystic tans. seriously. i've had a lot of really good luck with them and you've got the skin tone to make them work. if you do the mystic tan DON'T open your mouth.
ReplyDeleteI got one and it was horrible. I looked black and went straight home and showered!
ReplyDeleteI got one last year for a wedding we went to and LOVED IT! I was REALLY nervous about being orange, especially since I'm so pale so I decided to go to a salon and have someone manually do it with an airbrush. She did a great job but I was skeptical when I came home b/c it was VERY dark and looked like I rolled in potting soil. I made it clear before hand that I just wanted color and not a spring break tan so I was worried. BUT when I showered it looked great! It only lasted about 4 days so that is a downside, but if you have an event it's a great option. (Actually the picture you see is of the event so you can judge for yourself). I've used the Jergen's lotion before to but never really saw a big difference except some occasional staining on my palms.
